After photographing Dr. Dre and Snoop together in Compton, Los Angeles, while they were working on a music video for the 1992 album The Chronic, I decided to take a portrait of Snoop alone. We found a small alleyway behind the studio and set up a backdrop. Snoop has a very gentle, cool way about him, which makes taking a portrait of him very easy. He told me my rapper name would be “Casper The Friendly Ghost.”
