For the Rolling Stone series, I photographed Nirvana outside of Melbourne because I loved the set-like quality of the Australian landscape. This photograph is a B-side from what ultimately became one of my most well-known portfolios, though I spent the entire thirty hour plane ride home thinking I had totally messed up. Kurt Cobain had responded to my request that they not wear tee-shirts with writing by showing up in a tee that said “Corporate Magazines Still Suck.” Rolling Stone loved it.
